Project overview.

Product design for a design-tool platform — a product design engagement for Pastel X in Design / Technology, delivered by Blue Pixel Design Agency in 2024.

A product experience redesign that helped users activate faster and upgraded more free users to pro plans.

Pastel X had a compelling design-tool concept, but new users struggled to reach their first meaningful outcome. Core features were buried, onboarding felt overwhelming, and upgrade moments lacked urgency.

Our team mapped user flows, identified friction points, and redesigned the dashboard, onboarding sequence, and pro upgrade paths with a scalable component system for faster development.

Interactive Figma prototypes and detailed handoff specs helped engineering ship confidently. Post-launch, activation rates climbed and more free users converted to paid plans.
